Using High-Speed Rail to Network Places

Special Program

to

St. Pancras Station, London

High-speed rail would connect San Francisco to Los Angeles in under three hours. But it’s what happens in cities between and beyond those poles which will transform California. Cities with stations along the route, from the Central Valley to the southland, can expect to see a boost thanks to new flows of people: growth in housing, jobs, retail and services. How can station cities design growth to take advantage of being part of a high-speed rail network? How do these places relate to one other, while emphasizing their own unique identities? Hear how case studies from around the world can inspire connections between diverse station cities in California.
